Los Angeles, the land of glitz, glamour and greed. City of Angela is jazzy and wonderful. It tells the story of a film writer, woven together with a few love stories along the way.

You can tell that Aiden Smith, the musical director, has worked hard with this cast because the singing was absolutely brilliant and pitch-perfect. I didn’t hear a single wrong note from any of the cast members.

Starting off the show was great choreography planned out by Lauren Oxenham. Throughout the production, the dance moves were slick and polished.

Max Waterson portrayed the role of Stone so well. His acting ability was extraordinary, and he embodied the character beautifully. You can tell he works hard throughout the performance. Every time he sang, it was exceptional.

Victoria Alfieres’ presence on stage is beautiful. She plays Oolie with great charm. Her acting is sensational, and her singing is equally impressive.

Kris O’Ryan’s acting is absolutely outstanding, and it’s clear that he is dedicated to the role. Kris portrayed Irwin S. Irving with skill and great comedic timing. His costuming was also excellent, and he had me laughing a lot throughout the show.

Kevin Rodrigueza was brilliant in his role as Lieutenant Munoz. He had the whole audience laughing during his time on stage.

Caitlin Parr has a smaller part in the show but plays Mallory Kingsley very well. She has a beautiful voice, and her acting is strong and engaging.

Bronwyn Dyer’s stage presence was exceptional, and her performance was delivered with passion. She played Alaura Kingsley so well that every time she was on stage, your eyes were drawn to her.

Sarah Paul played the role of Bobbi, and I must admit I was in shock at her singing ability. Her vocals were sensational, and her range was remarkable. When she sang With Every Breath I Take, I was in awe.

I’ve left Andrew Mulholland for last for a reason.

Andrew played the part of Stine, and he was outstanding in this role. As soon as you saw him on stage, you couldn’t take your eyes off him. His characterisation was incredible, and when he sang Funny in the second act, it was breathtaking.

The ensemble was sharp in all of the choreography throughout the show. You can tell they’ve worked hard to make this a fantastic production.

One thing I loved about this show was the speed of the scene changes. You can tell that Logan McArthur has carefully considered how he wanted the set and transitions to work.

Congratulations to Hornsby Musical Society on a wonderful show
